The Mercedes CLA 45 has an AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine, with a maximum output of 265 kW (360 hp) and up to 450 Newton metres of torque, is the most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine in series production anywhere in the world that will be found in the Mercedes CLA 45.

The combination of high performance and torque, together with the performance-oriented AMG 4MATI, Call-wheel-drive system, gives the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG driving characteristics almost on a par with those of a sports car. The performance of the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and its top speed is 250 km/h .
