The new Mercedes-Benz CLS is officially set to be unveiled at the L.A Auto Show. But before the reveal, Mercedes has dropped two teaser photos.
The interior picture is vague in that it showcases just one element of the cabin: the digital display. That’s enough, however, to tell us that the infotainment system in the new CLS will borrow from other models, such as the E-Class. We can also see rounded vents lined red, with lots of carbon fiber. Based on what we know and this picture, it seems logical to assume that the new CLS will be upgraded to align with its model mates in the lineup. Expect the inclusion of Mbrace connectivity, for example. Mbrace is a telematics and infotainment package of services offered by Mercedes-Benz for model year 2016 cars and newer; it includes safety, security, convenience and in-vehicle applications.
The exterior picture is quite mysterious, yet does reveal a few tips. There’s a new-to-the-CLS diamond grille, and changes to the front lighting – it looks like LED strips are now integrated into the overall design. Not surprising is the low-slung look of the front picture; it unsurprisingly hints at a very sleek and sexy refresh.
Overall, it’s a welcome update to a sophisticated and beautiful car, one that will bring the 2019 CLS in line with the E-Class and S-Class.
