Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) Qatar 2023, the highly coveted automotive event of the year, opened its doors to the public for an unforgettable automotive festival.

Nearly a thousand members of the media from over 50 countries have already had the chance to explore the exhibition halls, the new models and innovations presented by the brands on October 6 during the Media Day.

GIMS Qatar invites now the public to join in the automotive celebration until October 14 in Doha. This is a unique chance for the public to immerse in a world-class exhibition, discover the latest innovations of the industry and share the passion for automotive excellence.

GIMS Qatar 2023 plays host to a dazzling array of 30 renowned automotive brands. From luxury to performance, this exhibition showcases it all, making it a must-visit for car enthusiasts of all tastes.

Audi Middle East has announced the appointment of Rene Koneberg as its Managing Director, bringing onboard an industry expert to steer the brand’s future in the dynamic Middle Eastern market. Under his new role, Rene represented Audi Middle East for the first time at GIMS Qatar, where he presented Audi’s flagship SUV, the new Q8 for the first time in the world, shared the success of 2023’s first half and the brand’s outlook for the next few years, while also engaging with regional business partners to discuss the brand’s future in the region.

CHERY has announced its plans to launch a range of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), with availability in the UAE starting December 2023.

This expansion demonstrates CHERY's commitment to advancing sustainable solutions across international markets, contributing to a greener and more eco-conscious future.
The highly anticipated TIGGO 7 PRO MAX and TIGGO 8 PRO MAX, showcased at the motor show, will also make their debut in the UAE soon, followed by the arrival of the Arizzo 8 in the first quarter of 2024.

Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann was on site in Doha to mark the brand’s presence at the first-ever GIMS Qatar event, where Middle East audiences enjoyed two regional premieres: the Revuelto super sports V12 plug-in hybrid, and the all-electric Lanzador concept.

Volkswagen Middle East has successfully concluded its participation at the 2023 GIMS Qatar, showcasing an array of cars and innovative technologies.

Renowned for its iconic vehicles, its reaffirmed its commitment to creating vehicles made for everyone and delivering exceptional driving experiences for Middle East motorists.

As a global best-seller, the Tiguan made its first-time motor show appearance at GIMS Qatar, the Touareg received an array of new features on its third generation, and the Teramont, took center stage at GIMS Qatar, showcasing a major refresh. 

Mercedes-Benz in association with Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles has introduced a new range of cars for the Middle East region: the new E-Class sedan, new CLE coupe and the new AMG-GLC 63 S E Performance coupe SUV. Alongside these three new cars, Mercedes also showcased many of their large portfolio including the G63 AMG 4×4 Squared and the S-Class Maybach.

The exhibition pavilion of Al Abdulghani Motors stood out with a collection of Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including Toyota GR sports cars, electric cars such as the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus UX300, as well as a selection of hybrid cars that blend advanced technology, design, innovation, and a fun driving experience.

The exhibition also witnessed the display of the icon of modern technological advancement, the Toyota Mirai, which relies on hydrogen fuel cells as an electric power generator, attracting the attention of visitors and bringing a modern and innovative vibe to the already impressive event.

 

Kia continues their efforts to green mobility with the premiere of the EV9 electric SUV for the Middle Eastern region. This is the first time the EV9’s production version was showcased in this part of the world and GIMS Qatar 2023 served as the perfect platform. Along with the EV9, Kia also showcased the EV5 Concept, EV6 and a couple of other ICE-powered cars in their portfolio.

The visitors are among the first to witness automotive novelties with a lineup of 10+ global premieres and 20+ regional premieres.

From Amiri cars to a Popemobile, visitors discover an exclusive line-up of the world’s greatest motorcars. Showcasing some of the best cars ever made and the world's top concours winners, this unicorn exhibit is a must-attend event for all discerning classic car buyers, collectors and enthusiasts. 

Adventure Hub – The Outpost Al Barari, Sealine

Until 13 October, the Adventure Hub is the ultimate destination for all of adventure enthusiasts to gather, be entertained and participate at a unique and exclusive off-road vehicle activation. Inside the Sealine Desert camp, engaging and interactive activities cater to those seeking fun and entertainment, including options suitable for younger visitors. Meanwhile, outside the camp, adventure seekers can explore the surrounding dunes.

Future Design Forum – National Museum of Qatar

On October 9, partnering with Qatar Auto Museum (QAM) and Car Design News (CDN), GIMS Qatar explored the future of car design. In the spectacular setting of the National Museum of Qatar, designed by Jean Nouvel, world-renowned speakers from the automotive design will discuss disruptive themes to explore the future of design in luxury cars and supercars. 

GIMS Qatar is not just an event; it’s a celebration of automotive excellence and culture that will leave the visitors in awe.
