Rolls-Royce Headquarter at Goodwood, England

The Rolls-Royce headquarters and assembly plant lies in the Sussex Downs at Goodwood, UK.
Since 2003, Goodwood has become synonymous with the world's most luxurious motor cars. It is also a place where British craftsmanship is not just thriving, it's evolving.

History: Rolls-Royce Limited was created over a famous lunch in May 1904. Henry Royce, a successful engineer, struck a deal with Charles Rolls, owner of one of the first car dealerships. The rest is history. The ensuing series of two, three, four and six cylinder cars broke the mould for engineering and craftsmanship. The Silver Ghost, launched in 1907, was a car of legendary smoothness that completed a 14,371 mile virtually non-stop run, creating 'the best car in the world' legend.

The 2015 Wraith

Production Factory

It takes 60 pairs of hands, more than 450 hours to design, construct and craft each Rolls-Royce.

Bespoke

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have always followed the ethos of founder Sir Henry Royce to 'take the best that exists and make it better and when it doesn't exist, design it'. The craftsmen in the wood, leather and paint shops proudly follow this philosophy, constantly pushing the boundaries of their craft to create beautiful and distinctive cars.


Woodshop

It can take up to 40 pieces of quality wood to create a Rolls-Royce veneer. But that is merely the start. Each part goes through a rigorous process where the lacquer is applied and carefully sanded, the veneer is then treated to a final finesse and a rigorous inspection.


Leathershop

The leather interior is a signature part of any Rolls-Royce. The craftsmen only work with the finest A-grade bull hides. Checking for imperfections, they inspect each piece with the most precise tool available- the human eye. They then apply the color layer using a process called drum pigmentation, creating a color surface that is six times thinner than on other premium automotive leather, allowing the texture of the Full Grain Leather to be clearly seen.

To end, at Rolls-Royce with their bespoke program, as long as it does not affect safety, you name it; and they will happily tailor it for you!
