Results breakdown:
In first place is the Lamborghini Aventador, a supercar that’s evolved over the years since 2012. The ‘Ultimae’, its final version, is the last of the roaring V12 supercars made by Lamborghini before the pivot to supercapacitor hybrids. The Aventador is the poster car of the 21st century, standing out so much it is photographed and filmed wherever it goes. With the highest average monthly search volume of 886,000 and a huge 220 million TikTok views, it’s no surprise this Italian supercar takes the top spot, with an overall index score of 8.89 out of 10.
In a close second place, is the McLaren 720S. A twin-turbo V8 is at the very heart of this finely balanced supercar, and with a carbon fibre body, the mixture of lightness and power makes for a raucous experience. Sculpted by airflow, this car was aesthetically controversial on release, but has since been proven a loved addition to the McLaren line-up. The British marque had fewermonthly searches than the Aventador, but had 22 million more views on TikTok. When all scores were weighted and averaged, the McLaren 720s scored a highly respectable 8.25 out of 10.
In third place is the younger sister of the Aventador, the Lamborghini Huracan. With a sleek body and a startling 631-horsepower V10, it’s a surefire hit with fans. Indeed, the Huracan had the highest quantity of TikTok views of any supercar measured, with 282 million views, with an overall popularity score of 7.94/10.
In the final place on this list is the venerable Audi R8 V10. Alongside the Porsche 911, this car is seen as a great entry point for supercar owners, as its huge power is met with stable 4-wheel-drive and mid-engine balance. However, it’s soon to be replaced after a hugely successful 16 year production run, and so only scores 60,000 on average search volumes, although garnering a surprising 433,000 hashtags on Instagram. Once the scores were weighted and calculated, the R8 came in 10th, with a score of only 5.24/10 on our popularity index.
